Projects tile/portlet

You will need this information when you have added a Projects tile/portlet, and wish to populate it for the first time, or edit it.

What is the 'Projects' tile/portlet?

The Projects tile/portlet allows you to create a section on a cover page or webpage to automatically show all or some of the Projects on your website.

Adding content to the 'Projects' tile/portlet:

  1. Whilst the Projects tile, and Projects portlet perform in a similar way, the route for adding content to each is different:

    1. Projects tile;

      1. In the 'Compose' view, you will see that your Projects tile will already be showing some of the Projects articles that are published on your website (unless you have not created any yet!). To populate/edit the Projects tile, you will need to hover over the tile until you see the blue 'Edit' button in the top left, and then click on it.

    2. Projects post portlet;

      1. Click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the page you wish to host the Projects portlet.

      2. Select Manage portlets from the dropdown menu.

      3. From the portlets drop down menu, click on Projects.

  2. The Projects tile edit interface has two headed sections, whilst the portlet edit interface contains the same information on one tab:

  3. Content;

    1. Title

      1. This is for the title of your Projects tile/portlet, you may wish to change the title from the default ‘Projects.’

    2. Number of Projects to show (tile)/Limit (portlet);

      1. This field is where you can define how many Projects to show in the tile/portlet.

  4. Filters;

    1. Phases

      1. Use this field to define which Projects show by the phase that they are tagged with. If none of the phases selected, all phases are visible in the table.

    2. Use this field to define which Projects show by the categories that they are tagged with. If none of the categories is selected, all categories are visible in the table.

  5. Sort on (portlet only);

    1. Use this field to define which attribute of the Projects you would like to sort the table with.

Editing content in the Projects tile/portlet:

  1. When editing the Projects tile;

    1. Go to the 'Compose' view of the Cover page, navigate to the Projects tile, and hover your cursor over it, the blue 'Edit' button will appear in the top left, click this and edit any of the fields you would like to.

    2. When editing the Projects portlet;

      1. Click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the correct page, which hosts the portlet in question.

      2. Select ‘Manage portlets’ from the dropdown menu

      3. Click onto the portlet you wish to and edit any of the fields you would like to.

Removing the Projects tile:

  1. If you wish to remove the Projects tile, navigate to the 'Layout' view of the cover page, and click 'x' in the top left of the tile. When deleting a tile/portlet, the tile/portlet you are selecting has a red border.

  1. If you wish to remove the Projects portlet, click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the correct page, which hosts the portlet in question.

  2. Select ‘Manage portlets’ from the dropdown menu

  3. Click on the X button, next to the portlet you wish to delete.
